An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a form of communication for the Internet that is required by every computer that is connected to the internet. It is an eight-digit number which is unique to every single computer.
2. What is Web 2.0, how does it differ from 1.0?
- Web 2.0: Known as the ‘live web’ as it offers two way communication, as users can build their own content through such things as Blogs and Wiki’s.

3. What is Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 will be implemented sometime in the future and will use tagging in order to gather information about individuals. This type of web will be evolutionary, as it will build a path to artificial intelligence. It will transform the web into a huge database, use different medias and will start to incorporate 3D concepts.

4. Describe the different methods an organisation can use to access information.
- Portal: Web page that combines many systems on one page.
- Intranet: Mainly used by business, as it is a private internet that links various systems.
- Extranet: A type of intranet that connects people with one another, so that they can share data between them easily.

5. What is eBusiness, how does it differ from eCommerce?
E-Business is conducting business over the internet, including the buying and selling of goods, interacting with customers and working with business partners. Where as e-Commerce is just simply the buying and selling of goods over the internet.
6. List and describe the various eBusiness models? (Hint: B2B)
- Business-to-business (B2B): Where one business buys and sells products to another business.
- Business-to-consumer (B2C): Where businesses directly sell their products to consumers via the internet.
- Consumer-to-business (C2B): Consumers sell product to a business.
- Consumer-to-consumer (C2C): When websites help consumers sell their products to other consumers over the internet e.g. Ebay

7. List 3 metrics would you use if you were hired to assess the effectiveness and the efficiency of an eBusiness web site?
- Session Visitor: An ID is available which comes in the form of such things as a cookie, and it allows a user to be tracked for a complete visit to a certain website
- Tracked Visitor: Allows users who visit a specific website to be tracked for multiple visits.
- Visitor Depth: The total number of unique pages a vistor views in one visit to a particular site.
8. Outline 2 opportunities and 2 challenges faced by companies doing business online?
Benefits:
- Allows business to reach people on the other side of the world
- It is cheaper, as you may not need such things as land and building to run your business
Challenges:
- Business that operate over the internet must ensure the security of their customers information, or customers may not choose purchasing of the internet as an option
- Complying with taxation laws, especially when dealing with overseas customers or businesses.
